What changes when you translate the whole file at once

Say what to translate, in a sentence

Ask for every page, or keep the legal notice and the product names in English. It reads the PDF and shows you what it will touch before anything runs.

One glossary for every page

The term approved on page 2 is the term used on page 200, and the same glossary carries over to the next report.

Two speeds, chosen per file

Lite for an internal read, Standard for the brochure a customer will hold. Chosen per upload, not per subscription.

What comes back

AI Glot reads the text on each page and writes the translation back in the same place, in the same colour and size wherever it fits. Images, graphics, backgrounds and page size are not touched, and there is no detour through Word.

How a PDF translation runs

1. Drop the file in

AI Glot reads the file and separates the text from the structure. It then tells you how much there is to translate, before anything runs.

2. Say what you want, in a sentence

No column mapping and no configuration screen. Write what you need, then read the plan it produced. If it misread you, say so and it plans again.

3. Get the same file back

One file comes back, translated. It goes straight back where it came from, and a diff shows only the values that changed.

What people bring us PDF files for

Four jobs that come up again and again. Each one is one upload and one sentence.

An annual or sustainability report

Two hundred pages into several languages, with the charts, the photos and the page grid exactly as the designer made them.

A brochure whose source file is lost

Only the PDF is left? Translate it directly. There is no need to find the InDesign or Word file it came from.

A datasheet or a manual

Tables, specifications and footnotes are translated on the page, and figures and product codes stay as they are.

A document for a right-to-left market

Arabic and Hebrew are written right to left, with letters joined as they should be, on the same page layout.

Questions about translating PDF files

What is the best tool to translate a PDF file?

AI Glot. It translates a full PDF file in one job, at a quality you can steer with a glossary and a plain-English brief. You describe what you need. You do not map fields or split the file. The tool on this page runs it with no account.

How do I translate a PDF file without breaking it?

Use a tool that reads the format instead of the raw text. Upload the file above and say what to translate. Read the plan, then run it. AI Glot returns one valid PDF file, so it goes straight back where it came from.

Can I translate a PDF file for free?

Yes. The tool on this page is free. No account and no card. Five files a day, up to 2 MB each, and up to 5,000 words translated per file. Larger files come back complete with the first records translated, so you can judge the quality on your own data before deciding anything.

What happens if my PDF file is bigger than the free limit?

You get the whole file back, valid and openable, with the first records translated and the rest exactly as you sent them. It is deliberately not truncated: a cut-off PDF file would not open, and a sample you cannot open tells you nothing. An AI Glot account removes the limit.

Do I get a PDF back, or a Word file?

A PDF. The translation is written into the same PDF, page by page. Nothing is converted to Word and back, which is where layouts usually fall apart.

What happens when the translation is longer?

German or French often runs 20 to 30% longer than English. AI Glot first tightens the line spacing, then sets the text slightly smaller within that block. Text is never cut off. Skim dense pages, such as tables, before you send the file.

Can it translate a scanned PDF?

No. A scan is a picture of a page with no text to read, and AI Glot does not run OCR. The upload tells you so instead of failing quietly. Text inside photos and images is not translated either.

Which PDFs are refused?

Password-protected and encrypted files, files whose permissions forbid editing, digitally signed documents (a translation would break the signature) and XFA forms. Remove the protection or export a fresh PDF, then upload it again. The platform takes PDFs up to 25 MB.

Is it safe to upload a PDF file to an online translator?

AI Glot keeps the file only as long as the translation needs it. The download link expires after an hour. The file is deleted afterwards. Nothing you upload is used to train any model. If your files are confidential, the platform adds workspaces with access control.

What do I get with an AI Glot account?

No size limit and no daily limit. Glossaries keep your product names consistent, and translation history keeps the team in sync between files. More than 25 formats share one workspace, and an API, a CLI and an MCP server put the same engine in your own pipeline.
