Translate EPUB files

Translate EPUB books up to 25 MB and get a valid EPUB back. Chapters, contents page, title and description are translated while cover, fonts and styles stay as they were.

EPUB books (.epub) are accepted up to 25 MB. AI Glot reads each chapter, the contents page and the book’s title and description, translates them, and repackages the book the way e-readers expect, with its language label updated. You get a standard EPUB back.

What you can ask

Keep the literary tone

For a novel: sets the voice and protects names.

Translate the book into French. Keep a literary tone and leave character names and place names as they are.

Non-fiction with terms

For a guide or textbook: keeps technical vocabulary steady.

Translate into German. Keep a clear, neutral tone and translate technical terms consistently from chapter to chapter.

Chapters only

Leaves the title page and contents page in the source language.

Translate the chapters into Spanish. Leave the title page and the table of contents as they are.

Spelling variant

Chooses the regional variant of the target language.

Translate into Brazilian Portuguese, using informal address.

Keep quotes in the source language

Protects text that should stay as written.

Translate into Italian. Leave the poems and the quoted passages in English.

Good to know

  • One target language per upload. A book holds one language. If you ask for two, the plan translates one and says so. Run the file once per language: your glossary carries over, so names stay identical across editions.
  • Ceiling. 25 MB. Output filter: not available, the whole book comes back.
  • Images. Only text the book stores as text is read. There is no image recognition, so lettering inside a picture stays as it is.
  • DRM. A protected book is encrypted and cannot be read. Use a copy you are free to convert.
  • Rights. A translation is a derivative work. Use your own manuscript or a book you are licensed to translate.
  • Other ebook formats. .mobi, .azw and .azw3 are refused with a message asking you to convert the book to EPUB first.

Use these docs with your AI tools

An AI agent can read this documentation directly. You do not need an account or an API key. Everything here is public and read-only.

Query these docs via MCP

Recommended

Add this server to Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, Mistral, or any tool that supports MCP. Your agent can then search AI Glot Docs documentation and read it in full, instead of answering from memory.

https://ai-glot.com/docs/mcp
  • searchFind the passages that answer a question.
  • fetchRead one page in full, as Markdown.
  • list_pagesSee every page in this documentation.

Query these docs over HTTP

The same tools also work as plain web requests. Use this for scripts, or for any tool that does not support MCP. There is one endpoint per tool. Arguments go in the query string, and the answer comes back as JSON.

Read the OpenAPI description. It is built from the same definitions as the tools, so it always matches what the endpoints do.

Read these docs as Markdown

Add .md to any page URL to get its Markdown source. You can also send the headerAccept: text/markdown to the page URL itself.

To read the whole documentation in one file, open llms-full.txt. For a short index of every page, open llms.txt.
