Translate PowerPoint files
Translate .pptx, .potx, .ppsx and .pptm decks up to 30 MB and get a PowerPoint file back. Slides, tables and speaker notes are translated, and the design stays put.
PowerPoint files (.pptx, .potx, .ppsx and .pptm) are accepted up to 30 MB. AI Glot translates the text on each slide, in tables and in the speaker notes, and writes it back into the same shapes. Masters, layouts, images and animations are not touched.
What is translated, and what is left alone
| Translated | Left as it was |
|---|---|
| Text in titles, text boxes and placeholders | Slide masters, layouts, themes and shape positions |
| Table cells | Images, media and animations |
| Speaker notes, as their own part | Text inside charts and SmartArt |
| Formatting inside a sentence, moved with the right words | Shape sizes |
Speaker notes are read separately, so you can translate the slides only, the notes only, or both.
What you can ask
Translates both parts and keeps the register consistent.
Translate the slides and the speaker notes into French. Keep a confident, direct tone.
Leaves the speaker notes in the source language.
Translate the slide text into German. Do not translate the speaker notes.
Useful when the presenter needs the script in their own language.
Translate only the speaker notes into Spanish. Leave the slides as they are.
Asks for compact wording, since the shapes are not resized.
Translate into Italian. Keep titles short enough to stay on one line, and keep the product name Flowbox in English.
Keeps numbers and brand terms exactly as they are.
Translate into Portuguese. Leave all figures, currency symbols and the names of our products unchanged.
Good to know
- One target language per upload. A deck holds one language. If you ask for two, the plan translates one and says so. Run the file once for each language: your glossary carries over.
- Ceiling. 30 MB.
- Text may not fit. Translated text is often longer than English, German especially. AI Glot does not resize shapes, so skim the result for overflow and shorten a line if one runs out of room. Asking for short titles in your instruction helps.
- Charts and SmartArt. Text inside them is left untouched and the plan says so. Retype those few labels in PowerPoint.
- Old
.pptfiles are not read. Open them in PowerPoint and save as.pptxfirst. - Output filter. Not available: the whole deck comes back in the same format.
